This year's For the Love of Film (Noir) Blogathon is only two weeks away and with the start of February it's time to get the ball rolling. Visit Ferdy on Films and The Self-Styled Siren for further details and if you still need promotional banners or signs, visit the blogathon's banner hub here.
In the meantime, here's the promotional trailer I put together to hype the blogathon and, if the mood strikes you, visit YouTube and embed the video on your own site to help spread the word. Enjoy the video and start preparing those posts on film noir for the blogathon, running February 14th through the 21st.

You really outdid yourself, Greg! I've been watching all the films on the imdb top-50 noir list (48 down, 2 to go) in preparation, and I really can't wait for the blogathon (I'm thinking of writing either about Burt Lancaster or about Preminger. Or about something else entirely. )

Damn! That's impressive. I can hardly wait until it starts, too. Film noir is something that can be examined from so many different angles I don't think anyone will have any problems coming up with plenty to write about.
And thanks, glad you liked the trailer.
Excellent trailer...what an homage to all their glorious wrong turnings!
Thanks, Margaret! What is it about stories about doomed characters that is so appealing? Even when noirs have a happy ending, or at least an ending in which loose ends are tied up, they still speak to that part of us that feels like nothing ever goes right.
can NYFA help?
Anyone can help by simply promoting the fundraiser. For that, go the links for The Siren and Ferdy on Films, where they have the details.
Top of the world, G!
Thanks, Larry!
Great stuff, with a perfect ending, Greg!
Thanks, Vanwall! It would make a good tagline for blogathon -
For the Love of Film (Noir):
The stuff dreams are made of.
Great job! That trailer is terrific.
Thanks, Neil!
Very, very, very awesome.
Thanks, Bill! Really excited about the blogathon and need to watch a couple more movies before we get there.

We can all relate! Fantastic job, Greg. Your montages are like booster shots for whenever I feel blase about the movies - they bring me back to first principles.
Wow, thanks Arbo! I get a sense of satisfaction making montages that rekindles a need to make movies and write about them more. So it's win/win!
First time I visited this site. GREAT trailer. Out of the Past is my favorite ever film.
Thanks, Mona! Out of the Past is, for my money, the greatest noir ever made, bar none. I simply love it.
Yes, I often try to figure out just why it's so perfect...was just reading some more posts...I agree with your views on Black Swan too :)
I think one reason it's so perfect for me is that Mitchum is the perfect world-weary noir anti=hero and Greer is the best, and most self-concerned, femme-fatale in all of noir. Then you've got Douglas, as cold and mean as they come and you've got the perfect elements for a perfect noir.
Glad you liked my Black Swan post, too.
