I am posting this publicity still for The Groom Wore Spurs (1951) because, after four minutes of vigorous internal debate, I could not produce a compelling reason to not do so. I must, therefore, surrender to the impulse and accept that there are simply some things, like posting pictures of Ginger Rogers pretending to be a horse, with which I am powerless to resist. Apologies, mea culpa and all that.

Jack and Ginger Pretend She's a Horse

I am so tempted to write an inappropriate and tasteless joke about Ginger Rogers and riding bareback, but I won't.
One could also make jokes about her, um, stance in the stall and expression on her face. The joke would involve something along the lines of "No, honey, it ain't the hay I want..." and then, somehow, conclude with the punchline, after Jack does a double take, "That ain't no hay!"
Comedy features from the 40s and 50s in technicolor with JACK CARSON were common on tv in the 60s and 70s..I never could see the love!!?..He was perfect for the re-make of A STAR IS BORN with Judy..I gotta say.
I just re-watched "A Star is Born" yesterday. Jack Carson does indeed play a great SOB.
For the record, I love Jack Carson in anything. The guy was a terrific character actor.
