I've been well and truly teased. That's pretty awesome.

Greg said...

Thanks! Five more to come before October, so that the teasing may continue.

bill r. said...

I'm going to go ahead and embarrass myself by asking what film that clip is from...

Greg said...

I kind of want to keep the clips a secret since I manipulated the images in them, using only part of the frame, altering the brightness, the speed and so on. I'm curious if anyone will recognize them as we go.

bill r. said...

Okay, fine. For the record, the "bad raw green" quote from a few days ago was from SCTV.

Everyone loses.

Greg said...

Hey, I forgot about that. Well, now I know.

Ryan Kelly said...

WHO?! WHO IS COMING?!!

I MUST KNOW!!!

Greg said...

That actually will be answered... in the full length September trailer.

Ed Howard said...

Nice! Like the creepy music.

Greg said...

Thanks Ed! All the teaser trailers music is done, I'm working on the music for the full length trailer now, as well as for a montage or two in October.

Arbogast said...

The first thing I thought of was THE WOLFMAN.

I'm excited!

Ryan Kelly said...

Boo! I'm holding my breath til you tell me...

Ryan Kelly said...

*passes out, falls of chair, hits head on table*

Greg said...

Arbo, it's not that but it does have that same fog on the moors look as The Wolfman.

I wish there was another holiday that had begun in this country in April or so that was somehow all about Sci-Fi. That way every six months all movie blogs would devote their time to horror or sci-fi, instead of only once a year.

Greg said...

Ryan? Ryan? Hello?

bill r. said...

Hey guys? Ryan's dead.

Fox said...

Greg-

Is that your music?

Also, love today's banner. The little beads always disturbed me.

Also, this is random, but do you think Arbo wears capes?

Ed Howard said...

Hey guys? Ryan's dead.

I hear it was auto-erotic asphyxiation.

Ryan Kelly said...

You know, Ed, I was gonna write that same thing--- but then I decided against it.

In other words, you were willing to make a tasteless joke that I wasn't. This is disconcerting.

Fox said...

Ed & Ryan-

Ed's comment even made ME gasp a little!

Ryan Kelly said...

Oh God, Fox gasped. We should probably commit Ed to a sanitarium, as this indicates a seriously disturbed mind.

bill r. said...

Yeah, no kidding. And actually, when I read Ed's comment, I thought, "Oh, maybe Fox wrote that, not Ed." But no, it was Ed, and Ed shocked Fox. And me, too, a little bit.

I don't know what's going on anymore.

Ed Howard said...

The Fox gasp test is world-renowned as the most accurate barometer of tastelessness.

Fox said...

I also made the mistake of going to The Smoking Gun and reading some disturbing stuff about DC that made me kinda sad.

Greg said...

Also, this is random, but do you think Arbo wears capes?

I know Arbo. Yes, he wears capes.

Greg said...

Boy, I have things to attend to for a little while and suddenly Ed becomes the new Fox. WTF?

Greg said...

Oh yes, and Fox, that's my music. All the music you will hear on the trailers will be mine.

Ryan Kelly said...

Boy, I have things to attend to for a little while and suddenly Ed becomes the new Fox. WTF?

Oh man, you don't know the half of it. With Ed becoming the new Fox, we needed someone to become Ed, so Krauthammer is the new Ed. Bill became the new Krauthammer to fill that void. Pat and Marilyn just decided to switch identities for no real reason. And Fox, having his identity stolen, was left in a weird kind of limbo so I told him he could just go ahead and become the new Greg F.

And it's barely even noon!

Greg said...

So am I you?

Ryan Kelly said...

Only if you want to be.

But who does that leave me as?

Greg said...

I don't know. I'll just start calling you "Charlie" and we'll leave it at that.

bill r. said...

But wait, who's the new me?? Don't you guys need a Bill??

Ryan Kelly said...

Why of course... we need... a Bill.

Bill, you're the new Bill.

Ryan Kelly said...

Greg, I'll tell you the truth about "Charlie".

Charlie is me.

Greg said...

The "they" who are coming in October must be our dopplegangers.

There Ryan, now you know.

Ed Howard said...

Boobies!

Sorry, just trying my new identity on for size...

Ryan Kelly said...

There Ryan, now you know.

Does this mean I can stop holding my breath now?

Kevin J. Olson said...

Ryan asks: "WHO?! WHO IS COMING?!!"

And I can't suppress the nerd inside of me so I answer: GABBO GABBO GABBO!

The teaser is pretty cool. I also love love love the new banner. Great work.

Greg said...

Kevin, I thought of GABBO, GABBO, GABBO throughout the teaser trailer making process. It kept entering my head. Now I know I'm not the only one.

Krauthammer said...

Oh no, I better brush up on my noise music!

bill r. said...

The internet is dead this afternoon. Somebody do something.

Greg said...

It always dies on Fridays. I'm offline most of today because I've got a lot of crap I gotta get done so I haven't done much of anything online today.

Greg said...

Ed - Krauthammer thinks we make noise music. I prefer the term "dischordant found sound". I mean, who wouldn't prefer that term?

Ed Howard said...

Uh, I do make noise music. And occasionally power electronics as well.

bill r. said...

I make garbage rock tone poems. It's the future of sound, you know.

If something doesn't happen soon, I'm going to eat this whole box of Tic-Tac Chill Exotic Cherry(TM) candy.

Arbogast said...

Last night while Mrs. Arbogast and I were drinking our absinthe, the TV news commentator said David Carradine likely died "by his own hand" and I sniggered and Mrs. A gave me the hag eye and said "It's not funny."

And of course she's right.

Fox said...

I hope when I die that you guys won't let Arbo make fun of me.

And whe I do die, Arbo, will you do a death notice for me?? Please????

Fox said...

Ed-

Do you make noise music like Lightning Bolt or like Merzbow? Or is it like way off the charts from even that stuff?

Fox said...

Bill-

Did you see that some dude called you out - kinda - on Glenn Kenny's blog? The only reason I know is b/c I just checked that post again that I left some comments on this week, and there was one late comment that seem to be directed at you.

I'm not trying fan flames, but you said you were bored and I thought maybe that could take you until the end of the day. Plus, he seemed like he was trying to snipe after nobody was paying attention anymore, and I hate when people do that in comment sections.

Anyways... he's probably not worth it.

bill r. said...

Fox, I haven't seen that, but I'll go look in a minute. That happens occasionally on Glenn's blog, where I'm a little more open about my politics. Glenn and I get along pretty well, and he's very civil towards me regarding this sort of thing, but some of the commenters aren't. Some are, of course, like Campaspe and a few others whose names escape me, but anyway, it's no big deal.

Ed Howard said...

Fox: Much more like Merzbow -- like 90s maxed-out brutal Merzbow, not his earlier electroacoustic stuff or his more recent beat-driven stuff. At least, sometimes; I do more atmospheric stuff too.

I don't really have any samples of my harshest noise music online at the moment, but I do have two mp3s of my noise/jazz duo Agents At Midnight, in which I play electronics and a friend of mine plays sax. You can find the mp3s here if anyone's interested.

bill r. said...

Arbo, do really drink absinthe? If so, what's it like? And does it help you see things that, in turn, help you catch killers?

Fox said...

Bill-

I hear ya. It's just that some of those random "non-linked" commenters have the snottiest attitudes. They hide behind the majority opinion of the blog and pile on instead of stating their own ideas and thoughts.

Ed-

I will definitely check that out tonight. I take so much time trying to keep up with your prolific writings that I didn't take the time to notice you were in a band!

And I like that one of your songs is called "Arse Cracked".

Fox said...

I really wanna see what Arbo looks like.

Ed Howard said...

Yeah, Arse Cracked. It's a tribute to electroacoustic greats Voice Crack and, you know, ass. We're sophisticated like that.

Fox said...

Ed-

Are you a fan of any straight-up pop-songcraft type music, or are your tastses more experimental?

Ed Howard said...

My own music is all experimental, but I listen to at least a little bit of pretty much everything. Just today, over at Jon Lanthier's blog we were talking about power-pop and John Cale and stuff. My iPod, which is how I listen to a lot of music now, is *really* schizophrenic -- like Kylie Minogue will lead to Merzbow will lead to the Rolling Stones will lead to Grandmaster Flash. I love eclecticism.

Even on my label, I released one (sorta) pop album for a songwriter I love.

Arbogast said...

I really wanna see what Arbo looks like.

I actually posted a picture of myself on the blog once.

Krauthammer said...

I love eclecticism.

I know, eclecticism is really the best thing, isn't it?

Arbogast said...

Eclecticism has its place alongside lots of other things I like.

Ryan Kelly said...

Absinthe is okay, Bill. It doesn't make you trip, though, that's just an urban legend. That is, unless you drink the 'home brew' of it.

Greg said...

I like formalized rigid structure that leaves no room for dissent or compromise.

Greg said...

I drink diet absinthe with absinthpertame, which is the artificial hallucinogen most effective for those of us watching our sugar intake.

bill r. said...

My body told me I shouldn't have booze anymore, and I never was sure I wanted to try it even before that, but I've always been curious.

Greg said...

Your body's lying. It's wants booze all the time.

bill r. said...

Seriously? Because that would be awesome.

Pat said...

Greg

I'm late to the party here, but I've gotta tell ya - that teaser is AWESOME!!!

Great work.

Pat said...

Oh,and one more thing -

My "what I learned" meme post should go up by tomorrow.

I've had a pretty stressful week at work, haven't been able to get much writing done.

Greg said...

Pat, thanks! I hope you like the rest but more importantly, I hope once we finally get to October it's all not a complete and disasterous anti-climax. Boy, I hope that!

Greg said...

Pat, I look forward to reading it and thanks so much for doing it. I hope your weekend is restful.

Greg said...

Bill, yeah I'm being serious. Drink up.

Arbogast said...

Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder.

Ryan Kelly said...

Depends on what kind of a drunk you are.

Greg said...

I think Ryan missed the pun there. At least that's what I can gather in the Absinthe of any further information.

Ryan Kelly said...

I... don't think he did.

Greg said...

Well even if you didn't, let me assure you, my comment was well intended, containing a complete Absinthe of malice.

Ryan Kelly said...

What an awful pun. Boooooooooo(ze)!

Greg said...

I once knew a guy who took a swig of Absinthe then a shot of tea and then took a half bow but not a full one. Kind of a mini-bow.

I guess you could call it an Absinthe tea bow-let.

Ryan Kelly said...

Come on, Greg, you can do better than that. Stretch that pun as far as you can. This joke MUST wear out its welcome.

I keep meaning to make one, but I keep forgetting. But you know me, I'm absinthe minded.

I am making the rounds to remind everyone about the "Reading the Movies" exercise I started. I'm going to compile everyone's lists into one master list in a week or two, so jump in! The original post can be found here:

Hey MovieMan, I'm hoping to have your meme up sometime today.
