I haven't been around much lately this week and I wanted to apologize. Work has been a bear and it's been a tug of war between working and blogging, with work winning (although I can't decide if work is the Bunnies or the Cheerleaders). I haven't been around other folks' blogs much and barely even present here at Cinema Styles. The Invisible Edge will have an update later today but I missed posting there on Monday and I usually try for a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule over there although sometimes even that becomes unwieldy. Name that Movie will be back up Monday and by Tuesday there should begin to be some more substantive posts around here than there have been lately.

The Bunnies outnumber the Cheerleaders so I guess the Bunnies are work right now. And if you're so inclined and would like to listen to the title of this post, please do.

Greg-
Freakin' awesome song by Elvis Costello! It would be my favorite lead-off of his if "No Action" (from This Years Model) wasn't like the best song ever, and stuff.
Also. Love the pictures post. It's kind of like a blogtastic version of Mad Libs created by Cinema Styles.
Lastly. Thanks for not doing a May Day post, you friggin' Commie!!!
Fox, if work wasn't weighing me down right now I would have totally done a Haymarket post, no joke. That's the kind of history stuff I love to write up. But alas, it is not to be this year. I'll find some anarchists to write up later for the hell of it.
I love the picture post, if any puzzled you (one or two are kind of vague I think) just let me know. Like I'm not sure if many will get the Murray thing.
Well... the first one I clicked on was the "winning" link and for a second I thought it meant that maybe you were a race car driver... but then I realized it was just a picture of winning. (That would be cool if you WERE a race car driver though.)
I didn't get the Murray one. I know what he's from, but don't get how it relates to not being present. Isn't he always at his office? (Maybe I haven't seen that many episodes of that show). And what is the James Cagney one saying?
Fox, the "winning" one is a picture of Paul Newman in the 1969 movie Winning.
The Murray pic is of one of their "band meetings" which Murray always starts by calling roll (hence, it's the link for the two words 'present' and 'here'). I love when Murray says "band meeting" and calls roll.
The Cagney pic is from the 1943 film, Johnny Come Lately.
I don't get the Murray thing at all. I'm out of the loop!
That puppy sure is sorry, though, isn't he?
Bill, Murray is the manager on Flight of the Conchords. I recommend watching some clips online.
Hey, the first two words of this comment are "Bill Murray" - cool.
Oh, them! You know, my wife heard of them before they ever had a show, and we watched some of their concert stuff on-line, and really liked it, but now we don't watch the show. I guess since they became popular, we decided to turn our noses up at them.
I do that all the time. I used to hang out in Irish pubs with Bono years ago (I was underage but Bono gave me a glue on mustache). Anyway, I told people, "This guy and his friends are pretty good. You should hear some of their stuff." Then U2 became big and I was like, whatevs, they're not as good as they used to be. It used to be all about the music man!
OH YES
BLOG POSTS
I EAT THEM LIKE CANDY
THANK YOU FOR THE ALL CAPS COMMENT KRAUTHAMMER. MUCH APPRECIATED.
And as an added bonus, I don't even understand it. So kudos on that too.
I thought of Elvis Costello the moment I read the post title. And then I was disappointed that it didn't seem to have anything to do with Elvis Costello.
But then!
Yeah, I don't get Krauthammer's comment either. I think maybe he's suffering from pig madness, or whatever that thing is that's destroying the world.
BLH, you're referring to the Bunnies right? Right? Cause they more than make up for the absence of anything about Costello.
Or maybe you're talking about the video. Yeah I guess that could be it too.
You're probably right Bill. I always pegged Krauthammer as a sufferer of Mad Pig Disease.
Guys, I'm feeling fine, I swear, I...
*vomits*
*but the vomit is not really vomit, but like, little wind up teeth, and they chatter everywhere*
*passes out*
Boy, that's downright creepy. I now envision Krauthammer as Conrad Veidt from The Man Who Laughs only instead of being a tragic figure he goes around killing people and eating their hearts.
And on top of everything else, I outed you.
If you buy me that puppy in the photo you linked to all will be forgiven!
I only have time for random babble on Twitter lately so I feel your pain. Between the job hunts and trying to get some kind of portfolio together, I feel like I'm barely livin.
Thank God substance is on the way. This week Cinema Styles has descended into a forum of non-sequitirs, bad puns, vulgarity, inane rambling, leftist politics, and general lunacy. I'm glad things will be returning to normal soon.
Peter, thanks not only for the mention but the real name. That old one that shall not be mentioned is really receding into the woodworks now. It was important to me at first, but now I don't need it anymore. Thanks again Peter and a great interview.
Kimberly, I hope you find something soon. My department has had its review and the decision will be made by June as to who gets laid off. So far around 85 to 90 have been let go.
And if I can find that puppy to keep you company on your job searches I'll send him to you (who wouldn't hire someone with that puppy tagging along?). And again, I hope you get something very soon Kimberly. I'll be sending out the best vibes I got.
Ryan - Hey! Our lunacy is very specific around here, thank you very much! General indeed!
My apologies. I didn't mean to imply that your lunacy lacked direction. It's some of the most focused lunacy on the internet.
I don't know Greg,
I'm still pretty pissed off that you weren't around. And that Sorry picture seems a little half-hearted. I mean, what happened to sincerity. If you would have had a picture of a panda with a lot of eye goop making the circles under his eyes really dark, and maybe he's chewing on some bamboo or something. Then I might believe you.
First of all Piper, and don't tell Ryan, but it really is general lunacy around here, not the specific kind. Hee hee, what a sucker.
Second, next time I'll put up a picture of a Panda chomping into some bamboo with the caption "Bite Me!" That will be awesome and I have you to thank. So, uh, thanks.
