Happy Mother's Day from Cinema Styles

Edward Everett Horton and Mom in 1954

May Britt and Sammy Davis,Jr celebrate the birth of their daughter in 1961

The text that originally accompanied this photo read: " Mothers attending Warner's Beverly Theater Sunday were presented with orchid corsages by lovely Joan De Wald (right). This particular mother received special attention. Why? Because her name is Mrs. Ann Le Sueur, and she celebrated Mothers' Day by going to see her daughter Lucille -- better known as Joan Crawford -- in a revival of her Academy Award-winning movie, 'Mildred Pierce'".

Happy Mother's Day to all Moms out there from Cinema Styles.

Did no one see any irony to celebrating Mother's Day with Mildred Pierce? What's next, a double feature with Stella Dallas?

Followed by a screening of Mommie Dearest, of course. The three of those could sum up my relationship with my mother pretty effectively!

Hey, that's why I put it up. I almost did a banner from MP but that would be going overboard.

Although I think WB was thinking, "Here's a mom that sacrifices everything for her child even though she's horribly wretched," which does kind of send the proper message.

Ryan, I hope you're joking, otherwise I'll feel very sad for you. And by the way, are you the horrible child of the first two or the child of the (mostly fictional I believe) horrible mother of the third one? I have a wonderful relationship with my parents (although not as much at this point since they're simply too old unfortunately and suffer from several health and memory problems).

But everyone can wish my lovely wife a Happy Mother's Day if they so desire.

Half joking, but that also means half serious. Maybe some day I'll get into my maternal issues, and I'll cry on your shoulder, but today is not the day for that. Happy birthday to Greg F's lovely wife (God help her) and to all the wonderful mums in the world! Even mine. I mean, I do love my mum, she just makes it difficult to like her sometimes...

It's not my wife's birthday but I'll wish her a Happy Mother's Day for you anyway. Thanks.

Shit, a momentary brain fart leads to a lifetime of embarrassment. Thanks for humiliating me, Greg. I'm just glad Bill wasn't here to see me fail. He would be so disappointed in me.

Happy to help out.

Believe it or not, that was the original opening narration to The Hulk, as spoken by Ted Cassidy.

The show lurched back and forth in quality but Cassidy was always at the height of his game.
