Here's the Bonus Round. I'm betting this will be immediately evident to most anyone who has seen this movie even if they haven't seen it in years. Sometimes I like to throw an easy one out there, although quite frankly, Flickhead (this year's Arbogast) is making them all look easy.
*****UPDATE*****
It has been brought to my attention that while I updated the last post with the winner and the correct guess, I did not do so for this one. My apologies Flickhead for not reminding everyone once again that you got three, yes three, right in a row. Wow, that's amazing! I think it's safe to say we're all really, really impressed. So once again, congratulations to Flickhead.
Oh yeah, and Bill got this one. It's from Blow Out.

Dressed to Kill?
The Conversation?
No. Sorry Flickhead, I guess you're fallible after all. That leaves an opening for somebody else though.
No, not the Conversation either. Okay, I was wrong, it's not a gimme.
I thought DePalma too, but I know it's not DtK...Blow Out, maybe?
Looks like a De Palma period piece -- Black Dahlia?
Bill - YES!!!!!! It's Blow Out. Fox wrote about Hi Mom a little while back and everyone talked about how Blow Out was his best so I snagged the clip from my DVD of it that day and held it for a few weeks so it wouldn't be totally obvious.
Flickhead, this is right at the end, when Nancy Allen's wired and Lithgow is about to meet up with her.
I got one, I got one!!!
PS - I apologize to everyone for referring to Dressed to Kill as DtK, but I was trying to be quick.
Yay, Bill!!!
That'll show 'em. Who, I'm not sure.
Bill, you may now scroll down the sidebar to the Name That Movie tally and see your name and point. And below that is the link to the rules and past selections where you can also revel in your victory. It's a good time to be alive.
Rick, I agree, Bill has totally shown 'em. Totally.
Thanks Jonathan and Rick! I'm crying right now and I don't care who sees me!
Anyway, as for the clip itself -- that's pretty good, isn't it? I haven't seen Blow Out in a very long time, and I have all sorts of problems with DePalma, but that's a damn nice shot, I must say.
It's a great shot, and I have problems with DePalma too, and still didn't know the clip. Oy!
My problems with De Palma stem from a party years ago where he spilled wine on my carpet and didn't apologize. Jerk. But I do like Blow Out. I watched a lot of it again when selecting the clip and it not only has a great pace but a very interesting visual styles as well.

That was me, and I only spilled the wine because you kicked my legs out from under me.
I want to watch Blow Out now.
The scene where Travolta listens to the audio over and over again trying to isolate the sound just before the blow out is extraordinary. Images from the tire and gunshot play like a ghost on one part of the screen while Travolta and the tape listen intently on the other.
DePalma did used to have a way with split screen. My favorite is the famous bit in Sisters, when the victim's bloody hand is clawing at the window in close up on one side of the frame, while on the other you see the window as seen from across the street by a neighbor who is about to call the police. That's a really brilliant sequence.
And now I want to watch Sisters.
Me too. Body Double sure is lousy, though.
Body Double sure is lousy, though.
It killed Craig Wasson's career. Not that he had much of one but still, he was coming off of Four Friends ("I'm not losing a daughter, I'm gaining a son" - hearing that at a wedding now would terrify me) and Ghost Story so he was doing pretty well.
My bad: I've never made it through Blow Out without nodding off.
And then Craig Wasson got so fed up that he changed his name to Bill Maher, and now look where are. Yet another reason for me to not like DePalma.
Flickhead, wake up! It's a well made thriller. Drink lots of coffee next time you see it on tv.
Bill, it's religulous I tell ya. They should play brothers in a movie where one is an actor who never made it big and the other is a smug pompous ass who did.
And then the smug pompous ass gets pushed off a bridge.
Sounds like a winner!
Please! No! Don't make me watch any Brian De Palma movies! Please!
I've been without Internet access for 3 hours, but I wouldn't have gotten it anyway.
Welcome back Marilyn.
Flickhead, don't worry, I won't. Hey, what if Mickey Rourke starred in De Palma's next film?
I didn't recognize the shot but I knew the shot - I miss De Palma as enfant terrible now that he's just terrible.
Jonathan, you put up a nice update in the post for the last "Name That Movie" clip praising Flickhead for his correct guess. You have put up no such update for my correct answer.
I think that this is an unfair practice and the Cinema Styles should not only apologize but take immediate steps to correct the situation.
Sincerely,
Bill R.
Darn! Well, BLOW OUT and THE CONVERSATION have a lot in common, so I feel like I was almost right. I find De Palma hit and miss, but I do really like Blow Out, although I haven't seen it in many, many years.
Bill, I think I will start an internet meme/petition demanding that Jonathan apologize to you for this grievous snub.
Boomerang?
Oops... nevermind.
