I'll Be There

I'll be all around in the dark.
I'll be everywhere.
Wherever you can look.
Wherever there's a fight, so restless readers can be entertained, I'll be there.
Wherever there's a critic beatin' up a favorite genre, I'll be there.
I'll be in the way guys yell at the climax of an action picture.
I'll be in the way kids laugh when an actor takes a pratfall,
and when the people are watchin' the movies they make
and watchin' them in the movie palaces they build -
I'll be there, too.

I'd like to save this particular post. I have a hunch it might turn out to be something pretty important, a document... like the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution, and my first report card at school.

By all means! And I shall call you Flick Jed from now on.

Yep, I'm everywhere. That annoying whistling sound you're hearing right now but you can't quite figure out where it's coming from? That's me.

I hate to...self promote? That sounds wrong, given the circumstances, but I guess I'm promoting my own blog, in a sense, but...well, whatever, my Dardos are up.

Thank you Fox. I'm ready to take the controls whenever you need help.

Ever since I re-worked Daniel Plainview's speech a few weeks ago I've been doing more in my free time and have about six already written and in the draft section.

So basically, yet another feature. I'm thinking of putting them up on Tuesdays and calling it "Tuesday Morning Rewrites" and I've already done one that includes Fox in the dialogue and one that includes Bill.

Bill, I hate Self-Promotion too (CINEMA STYLES - YOUR ONE STOP SHOP FOR MOVIE EXCITEMENT!!!) so I understand your reluctance (CINEMA STYLES - READ IT TODAY!!!) but don't feel bad about announcing a post (CINEMA STYLES - POSTING DAILY!!!). Thanks for stopping by (AND COME BACK OFTEN TO... CINEMA STYLES - THE BLOG WITH A HEART!!!)

Jonathan-

This might sound like I'm kidding, but I'm not...

Do you talk to yourself when you're driving to help you think out ideas? I know a couple of close friends that do this, and when they first told me I thought it was odd, but then my wife told me she does it too. Anyway, with all of your output, it made me wonder if you work through stuff in "free" moments like that as well.

My FAVORITE way to think things through used to be going out and shooting hoops by myself. I don't know why it worked - maybe more blood flow from physical activity - but my mind really sorted through ideas when I did it. Sadly, I have no hoop outside my house now :(.

Put up the one that has me in it! I love those!

I wonder where Marilyn is today. She must be sleeping off Monday and Tuesday's TOERIFC party that she hosted.

BTW... Lapper, are you working on a The Tin Drum banner? Not pushing for it, just curious.

Fox, when I'm driving alone, which is rare, I listen to music. And not the radio or some song I like but jazz or a score or a classical piece as I imagine what images (either those from released movies or those I can imagine filming myself) could go along with them. I can listen to the same piece of music over and over and over again for hours while I do this. When I'm driving with someone I want to hit repeat on the car player again and again but I don't knowing it will irritate the passenger.

In the spring and summer I do shoot hoops though. We have one on the garage.

In time Bill, in time. I don't know why I use you and Fox so much for these things, and banners, but for some reason you two fit them so well.

Jonathan Lapper said...

Fox, no banner yet but soon. Soon.

Think things through? Who the hell does that?

People who shoot hoops.

Word on the street had it that Arboghost and Bill R. were doing some alley-oops on your head last spring.

Does that mean the genius just streams out of Arboghost without any warm-ups? My man needs to be working for the CIA or something, not blogging for a bunch of us retards.

...hmm, I guess Arbo COULD be CIA right now. Blogging is a great cover.
