So Long Haloscan and Thanks for all the Nothin'

It's gone! My blog has NO COMMENTS ON IT. How weird. Oh well. Who will be the first?

Welcome to the new Cinema Styles Blogger comment template. Enjoy!

*****UPDATE*****

You'll notice looking down the page that I have already begun archiving the old Haloscan comments. Just click on the links provided at the end of the posts and you can re-live the glory days over and over again. Joy!

Boy, this guy didn't get one comment until after a full year of blogging. What a loser. (:

You were just waiting for that weren't you?

Well, you're the winner Brian! The prize was a take on "a penny for your thoughts"... so, I'll send you a penny soon. Look for it. It'll be nice and shiny.

Brian Doan said...

Woo! A whole penny! That's more than I've ever received for my thoughts. Woo!

Seriously, glad your blog template hassles seem to be over. That stuff can be naggingly stressful. And your blog is too cool to have to deal with those hassles.

Damn straight. Thanks Brian. Since you're my "little brother" I'm glad you get the penny. Ah hell, make it a quarter.

A brand new template. Huh. I'll bet you're real proud of yourself, aren't you?

And in the space of a day or so, you'll have more comments than I've had in a whole freakin' year of blogging.

But I'm not bitter or anything, no, not me ... looks like I'm gonna have to start giving out coins.

I know, instead of shiny pennies, how about a nice, new nickel?

Or better yet, a sliding scale ... for run of the mill complements like "awesome blog, man" a nickel, but for real meaningful replies a dime or, heck, even a quarter!

by the way, I'm glad to finally get to see what you look like.

Jonathan Lapper said...

Rick - That's the most meaningful reply I have ever had. You get a Susan B. Anthony dollar. But you have to come pick it up.

Oh, and it would help if I could borrow a Susan B. Anthony coin from you first, so I have one ready to go.

You've never seen my cat's eye? It right there on the side bar by my profile. It defines me.

It's my adorable, overfed, clutzy, affectionate cat. The red came from the camera indicator light and, well, a star was born.

Oh, I don't like it here anymore. I'm going over to Rick Olson's blog.

Rick Olson just steals ideas from me so you might as well stay here and get the original article.

Sorry you couldn't have been the first and gotten that shiny penny but you can't win everything Bill.

Professor Wagstaff: "Template, Chicorelli, template."
Chicorelli: "Well, if I a-had a templates, I'd have no problems, either."
Professor Wagstaff: "OK, Chicorelli, I'll bite. Why would you have no problems?"
Chicorelli: "Because a templates is a full set!"

I steal your ideas and turn them golden. Golden, I say!

And I'd seen your cat's eye, but hadn't associated it with your ever-lovin' self, for some reason.

Actually, I thought it was Godzilla's eye, you know from the remake? My cinematic knowledge knows no bounds.

Jonathan Lapper said...

I love that scene Larry, thanks for unearthing it. You know, legend has it that the Haloscan commenting template was the eventual downfall of the Marx Brothers so I feel a defnite kinship with them.

Jonathan Lapper said...

Hey Rick, it does look like Godzilla's eye. I never thought of it that way before. And all your posts are golden Rick. That's why I keep telling everyone, "Rick Olsen's nickname should be 'Golden Boy.'" But no one listens.

Sheila, that's the best comment yet. Thank you for expressing the excitement that I feel about getting rid of the albatross that was Haloscan.

I feel like I've been wiped clean. All that hard work toward building a unique cyber-relationship with Lapper and friends is starting anew.

And OMG, I start the new era with a lame ass comment like this!?!?

Christ... umm... uhhh... sh*t... I gotta think of something... uh... The Dark Knight sucks!

Fox said...

Bill, will you come to my blog too??

I know Lapper's place is like the Sistine Chapel of comment sections, but it really helps me pull chicks at work when they see an elevated comment count.

Jonathan Lapper said...

Fox, as we start anew we must think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves. Only then can we save our Union. Blogging union that is.

bill said...

I don't know, Fox...your never-ending stream of anti-Dark Knight has been like a dagger to my heart.
